William Blake
Songs of Innocence and of Experience
Today when we talk about type, our initial thoughts are of the small black shapes we see on a page or a screen. Equally when we talk about a page, we think of a white space, usually book-shaped, flat and turnable.
For this brief I was told to think about what 'type' and 'page' might mean, and to examine the possibilities that type can offer, and examine what kind of page will best support those possibilities. I had to decide what I wanted to communicate and to look for 'pages' to hold this communication. I also had to look at what kind of typography would best convey it to the observer.
The 'page' I chose was a skate park and I took some text from William Blake Songs of Innocence and of Experience.
